Boscoscuro
Boscoscuro
Boscoscuro is an ancient 18th-century farmhouse restored to its former glory, nestled on a natural terrace at an altitude of 1,000 metres along the slopes of Mount Etna.
A secluded, intimate place, a private park where time seems to have stood still.
The view opens out onto a vast, silent panorama that takes your breath away. But it is upon entering the heart of the estate that Boscoscuro reveals its true soul: a thousand-year-old woodland, criss-crossed by well-maintained paths that invite you to explore at a leisurely pace. Here you will find the ‘Cerza Ranni’, a giant tree over five hundred years old, recognised as a Monumental Tree of Italy, a living symbol of a nature that predates and transcends humanity.
Amidst chestnut and oak trees winds an immersive art trail, where contemporary installations interact with the landscape. The artworks do not disrupt the woodland: they follow its rhythm, respect its forms, and seem to emerge from the ground as silent presences, in harmony with the ancient dry-stone structures, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Boscoscuro woodland is not tamed, but accompanied. Its care is inspired by the philosophy of Japanese gardens: nature remains the protagonist, human intervention is discreet, essential, aimed at enhancing what already exists. Every path, every vista, every space arises from listening to the place.
Just a few kilometres from the village of Ragalna, Boscoscuro offers a complete sensory experience:
