The Stone Room
The Stone Room is one of the most evocative and visually striking spaces at Boscoscuro, a place where materials tell a story and every detail contributes to creating a unique visual and sensory experience. The room is born from the intersection of contemporary art and the region’s heritage, and this is immediately apparent: access is via the panoramic terrace, a bright space that foreshadows the intimate and contemplative atmosphere of the interior.
The space is primarily crafted from three materials symbolic of Sicily: the strong, irregular lava stone of Mount Etna; the elegant, luminous white marble of Ragusa; and the warm, textured yellow sandstone of Syracuse. These elements, shaped into vertical sculptures and natural surfaces, guide the guest on a journey that blends design with local identity. The large slabs on the side wall emerge as contemporary monoliths, each with its own texture, history, and presence, in dialogue with the rest of the room.
Alongside its material elements, the Camera Pietra surprises with its scenography. One of the walls features a luminous miniature city, created using niches, windows and silhouettes that light up from within. It is a work that transforms the wall into a nocturnal landscape, evoking ancient neighbourhoods, alleyways and silhouettes that seem to come to life in the twilight. The warm light streaming from the sculpted windows creates an intimate and cosy atmosphere, almost cinematic in feel.
On the opposite side, a large contemporary fresco unfolds: a full moon suspended above a sea of three-dimensional clouds, modelled in relief and illuminated to accentuate their volume. The wall thus becomes an imaginary horizon, a suspended landscape that amplifies the depth of the room and invites silence.
The double bed is positioned at the centre of this interplay between stone and light, offering a privileged vantage point over both scenes. The room is completed by a TV, mini fridge, kettle and a discreet relaxation area, designed to maintain the room’s clean lines.
The Stone Room is the ideal choice for those seeking an experience that goes beyond a mere stay, engaging the imagination and leaving a lasting visual impression.
